Floradix Iron Supplement

Tired of being tired?

Tired of being tired? Always sleepy? It could be due to low iron levels!!

According to the World Health Organisation, iron deficiency is one of the most common mineral deficiencies in the world. Women, particularly those in their child bearing years, are especially at risk. They need optimum energy just to get through the day and yet many are struggling to stay awake! Recent statistics show that 40% of women under the age of 34 have seriously low intakes of iron and are at risk of anaemia as a result. Teenage girls and pre-menopausal women are at particular risk as they have higher nutritional needs for iron than post-menopausal women due to losses during menstruation. However, people who follow a vegetarian diet may also be at risk as these diets are typically low in iron-rich foods.

Iron deficiency is preventable. Nutritionists recommend 15mg of iron a day for women to stay healthy, but the majority of women do not reach that, with their dietary intake.

Symptoms of Low Iron Levels

If you’re not getting enough iron, you may find the condition of your hair and nails deteriorates, or you may develop cracked skin around the corners of your mouth, you’ll feel tired a lot of the time. Once your body’s iron levels are depleted, you are more likely to develop anaemia (the more exhausted you feel, the closer you are to developing the condition). As iron levels drop, you may feel breathless, suffer palpitations and even experience temporary memory loss. Research at King’s College London, found that low iron levels can also affect your IQ.

Why Do Women Often Suffer With Low Iron Levels?

So apart from not getting enough iron in their diets, what other reasons can cause low iron levels in women? Menstruation is one of the main reasons and goes a long way towards explaining why women are about 10 times more likely than men to suffer a lack of iron; just a few heavy periods in a row can cause a loss of this vital mineral – and that’s before you factor in any of those bad lifestyle habits. Also, pregnancy and breast-feeding can significantly lower a woman’s iron levels. When it comes to childbirth, further amounts of iron will be lost. Drinking excessive tea or coffee can inhibit iron intake, plus intense fitness regimes and extreme dieting can both increase the likelihood of anaemia.

The Solution

So how can you ensure you keep your iron levels up and combat tiredness for good?

Alongside a balanced diet, there can be times when an iron supplement can help you with your tiredness. If you are worried about the constipation and headaches often associated with taking iron tablets, try a liquid supplement – as they allow for the nutrients to be more easily absorbed by the digestive system. Floradix Liquid Iron formula is an iron supplement contains 7.5mg of iron per 10ml, so a daily 20ml dosage ensures that you receive the recommended daily amount. Floradix also contains vitamin C and vitamins B1, B2, B6 and B12 to help increase iron absorption. To help combat digestive problems, such as constipation, Floradix contains herbal extracts of nettle and fennel. The product is also available in a yeast and gluten-free version, called Floravital.

Floradix and Floravital are available in 250ml and 500ml bottles from Holland & Barrett, health food stores and selected pharmacies nationwide.

Why Floradix?

  • Floradix contains vitamins and concentrates of fruit juice to help enhance your iron absorption.

I didn’t think anything would be able to sort out my tiredness in the morning, seemed like getting even more sleep than normal just made me feel even more tired in the morning which is strange!! But I was really getting annoyed about how tired I felt in the evenings and I just couldn’t be bothered to do anything but laze about. My doctor said I should look at iron supplements in case I wasn’t getting enough in my diet. I tried a couple of different ones but Floradix is the one that stuck. I can bring the tablets in my bag but always have a bottle at home and work because as far as I’m aware, liquid iron gets into your system quicker. Anyway, after about 3 weeks of taking it I found not only was I more energetic in the evenings, but waking up in the morning became so much easier. I was proper shocked at how well a supplement could work and I’m so happy you’ve not go a blog and I can learn about more of your products that might be useful for me when I’m older of if I have kids or even for my friends and parents. Thank you Floradix!!!!!
